ABOUT TOBY BARKER
Toby’s passion for horses came at an early age, along with the realisation of a gift which gave him a deep understanding of their true needs. To Toby, all horses are great teachers. He really listens to them, and his keen sense of observation ensures that he learns something new from every single one he meets. He also listens to the owner, and his calm, quiet demeanour quickly puts people at ease.

As a lifelong professional horseman, Toby offers a wealth of experience with finely honed expertise, to solve problems, build trust in both the horse and owner, and strengthen communication between them. He views every new situation with fresh eyes, strives to always meet people ‘where they are’, and really enjoys coming up with tailor-made solutions to complement each case.
Toby relishes a challenge, and is a natural problem solver. Working for many years with every type from little ponies right through to world class equine athletes, no issue is ever too big or too small. He has worked very successfully with feral and unhandled horses, and thrives on these interactions.

Toby has worked extensively for many years with industry professionals - vets and vet nurses, farriers and barefoot trimmers, physios and dentists, racehorse trainers and work riders - as well as a wide range of regular competitors, leisure riders and sanctuaries.
